This course introduces students to the study of managed healthcare. It covers topics in the history and evolution of managed care, the main types of managed care organizations, the healthcare delivery system, how managed care actually manages healthcare and delivers services, nonmedical operations of MCOs, Medicare and Medicaid programs and the regulations of managed healthcare.
